nsc-logo-topToday we will look back at 2015 when Keizer companies joined the National Safety Council, a national nonprofit organization with the mission of eliminating preventable deaths at work, in homes and communities, and on the road through leadership, research, education and advocacy. Our Safety Manager Tom Johnston came on board with Keizer companies in 2013 and was the main driver for us joining the NSC. Since then, Keizer companies have been providing robust safety training for employees and reduced workplace injuries by over 50%! All our new employees go through extensive safety training to make sure that they know how to operate all equipment safely and how to spot safety hazards in their workplace. Everyone is invited to participate in safety committee meetings which allows them to take ownership of workplace safety and continually improve the safety environment in each one of our locations. Because we all want to stay safe. The company owners Shane and Stacy say that “It’s All About The People”, a motto that their late father and the founder of Keizer companies Jim Keizer used. Shane and Stacy care about their employees and want everyone to go home safely to their families at the end of the day.
