Workplace Safety Training – Safety and Accident Prevention Is Paramount at Mid-States Utility Trailer Sales
Our OSHA Employers’ Council of Iowa Training Course graduates, left to right: Mike Albright – Night Shift Foreman, Zach Fritz – Service Manager, Duane Bugge – Parts Manager. Congratulations!
Last week our Omaha staff completed an OSHA Safety Training delivered by The Employers’ Council of Iowa (ECI) Western Iowa. The training included sessions on OSHA standards and updates, Emergency Action Plans, Walking Working Surfaces, Machine Guarding Principles, Electrical Safety, Lock-out, tag-out, Hazard Communication, Personal Protective Equipment and Ergonomics. The OSHA program promotes safety culture and the training content includes hazard recognition and avoidance, workers’ rights, and employer responsibilities. It emphasizes the value of safety and health to workers. Mike, Zach and Duane feel that the training has provided them with a solid base of knowledge in hazard awareness and control measures to help them effectively manage safety in their areas.
Tom Johnston, Safety Manager for Keizer Companies says: “We strive to provide a safe and healthy workplace. It’s absolutely paramount for us that our management is OSHA trained and our employees can thrive in a safe working environment. We focus on prevention and encourage our employees to report risks or hazards. As a result of our recent safety process changes, our accident rate has dropped radically in the past couple of years. Our owners are 100% behind OSHA training and proactive safety management and ensure that all Keizer Companies employees are safety and health aware.”
