Omaha Branch Helps Choose The Top Nebraska Service Technician

Jul. 17 2017 Miscellaneous By Mid-States Utility

The Nebraska Trucking Association held the 10th Nebraska SuperTech competition last week at the Central Community College in Hastings, NE. Over 50 professionals and students from the industry came together to coordinate, compete, judge and select the top service technician from Nebraska. Congratulations to Raece from Truck Center Companies who was the overall winner and will go on to represent our state in the National SuperTech competition in Orlando, Florida in September! The National SuperTech competition is hosted by the Technology and Maintenance Council of the American Trucking Associations each year.

Our own Garrett Smith, Outside Service Sales Representative for Mid-States Utility, Omaha, took the challenging job of a judge in the competition. At 24 years old Garrett is young to the industry but his knowledge, experience and passion for service technician’s job goes well beyond his years.

Richard Torres, Regional Field Service Manager, Utility Manufacturing Co joined our Garrett Smith, Outside Service Sales Representative at Station One to help select Nebraska’s top service technicians this year

Garrett was joined by representatives from Utility Manufacturing Co. Richard Torres, Regional Field Service Manager, and Korey Rundquist, Area Field Service Manager who flew in from California and Utah respectively to take part in the Nebraska ServiceTech.

The event has grown in size and stature since the NTA held the inaugural SuperTech ten years ago. The success of it is very much down to the dedicated work of a number of key individuals from the trucking industry in Nebraska, headed by Jerry Wessel, a long time committee at the NTA. We at Mid-States Utility are very grateful that we have been asked to participate and already look forward to next year’s competition!
